Fitness for our Future

It makes us really happy to see more people now appreciating the need for healthy lifestyle patterns to help live longer. Over the past 10 years we have worked with many individuals who do not train for vanity, or beach bodies. But to ensure they are doing their best to live longer and healthier. Reasons for this vary, but more often I hear people talking about training with us as an investment in their future.
It is really difficult to start an exercise programme for the majority of people. This can be a combination of trying various sports that are not fun, and trying exercise styles that do not suit or motivate a person over time. Then there is the issue of when to fit in exercise to an already overwhelmingly busy life schedule. Next is the issue of motivation to keep going if you don’t see immediate results, and for others it can be as simple as training with the right or wrong people!

So it is no wonder so many individuals think about getting fit, but find it too difficult to even start!
What we have learned working with our clients....
Schedule the time for your exercise
Pick the correct exercise for you! Walking, swimming, yoga, gym sessions, fitness classes, personal training, team sports…. The list goes on
If you like companionship – find a training buddy in a friend, family member, work mate, or a trainer.
Stick with it for a minimum of 6 weeks to create the habit
Do not set your goals too high. We ask clients when we first meet how many times a week they can do ANY form of exercise for 30 minutes. Generally, we then take one session off the initial promise to use as an achievable goals (don’t fail at the first hurdle!)
From a trainers perspective I am personally delighted that so many of my clients now tell me that they continue to come to us for sessions to give them peace of mind that they are doing something for their future. Fighting numerous medical conditions, stimulating hormones to boost mood, keeping the body able! To play with future grandchildren…. And the list goes on

We are so very lucky to have clients come to us both individually, as couples, with friends, and as groups. It then fills us with pride when we see clients start to do other activities and enjoy healthier hobbies with their children such as Park Run and Pickleball.
To be part of this journey is a true blessing and we are ever grateful that so many of our clients allow us to be part of this.
We hope you can take on board some of the information linked to our blog to help you!
